Does Rubio Monocoat stain?

Rubio Monocoat has a mild scent, often described as a pleasant, honey-like smell. The scent is the strongest during application, and lasts for between 3 to 5 days.

However, Rubio Monocoat products are 0% VOC and leave no harsh chemical fumes.

How long does Rubio Monocoat take to dry/cure?

When used with a Rubio Monocoat accelerator (hardener), Rubio’s range of Oil Plus wood stains take 5 days to fully dry/cure.

However, under favourable conditions, your stained furniture may be handled after 24-36 hours. After 48 hours, your furniture will be approximately 80% cured, and after 5 days, your piece will be fully cured, and can be cleaned using Rubio’s range of cleaning treatments.

How should I apply Rubio Monocoat to a table?

To apply Rubio Monocoat stains to a wooden table:

Sand the wood to open the pores in order to facilitate the stain’s adhesion to the surface. Begin with medium then move to fine-grit paper, always sanding in the direction of the grain.
Apply your Rubio Monocoat stain using their dedicated scrubby applicators.
Be conscious of the colour – and remember that leaving the stain on for longer, before wiping off the unabsorbed stain, will produce a darker stain.
Do not let the stain fully dry on your unit. Remove the unabsorbed stain with a dry cloth in the direction of the grain.
Apply a clear finish to protect the stain and the wood.
